Woodgate Community Food is a local food bank born during the Covid-19 crisis for residents of Fosse Ward, Leicester. We are open on Saturdays to the public to access food and essential household items. We also offer a delivery service for those who are unable to travel to the food bank due to mobility and other issues. This is a very limited service.
The foodbank is based in the Annexe at the Fosse Neighbourhood Centre and you may need to queue outside. You will also need to bring your own bags, egg box and should wear a face covering if you are unwell. Hand sanitiser is available on arrival or you can bring your own. Please be mindful of others and kind, especially to all our volunteers who are not paid to operate this service.
You will need to register on your first collection, this means bringing some form of identification , ideally with a photo and proof of address. We cover Fosse ward primarily, then Westcotes and Abbey. We register people in groups as households so please confirm clearly who lives with you and ages. Children are counted as those under 16, over 16 will count as adult registrations. Children cannot register themselves and should not be collecting on behalf of an adult unless previously arranged and noted with the team.
Opening times: Saturday 10.30am -12.00pm
